After much speculation, it is now officially revealed that the singer Demy will represent Greece at Eurovision 2017. The Greek broadcaster, ERT announced the news only hours ago, stating that Demy will be joined by the team of Dimitris Kontopoulos as composer and Fokas Evaggelinos as director.
The song that Demy will sing at the contest will be chosen through a national final. The televised final will feature three songs, where the winning song will be chosen by the public.
Who is Demy?
Dimitra Papadea, known as Demy is 25 years of age, and made her professional debut around 5 years ago, where she featured on a rap song called Mia Zografia, which became a big hit in Greece and Cyprus. In 2012, she won the award for Best New Artist at the MAD Video Music Awards, with two other awards. Late 2012, she released her first full length album called #1.
In 2013, she performed Believe with Dima Bilan at the Greek national final, and a year later released her second album called Rodino Oneiro. Last year, she performed in the musical of the Addams Family, where she played the role of Wednesday Addams. She has won many awards over the years, with her most recent wins in 2016, and another notable win being the Best Greek Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2013.

Dimitris Kontopoulos and Fokas Evaggelinos are also not new to Eurovision, with many Eurovision projects under their belts, including the Russian entry of 2016, You Are The Only One sung by Sergey Lazarev.
